How does browser-based PDF processing work?
PDFNova runs its supported PDF transformations in your browser instead of sending document contents to a PDFNova application server. Keep the working tab open while a task runs, then download the output before resetting the workflow, leaving the page, or starting over.
The browser performs the supported transformation
After you select a supported PDF, PDFNova uses browser code to read the document and perform the chosen merge, split, rotation, deletion, reordering, page-number, text-watermark, or supported metadata operation. The work uses the device and browser session you opened.
This application boundary means PDFNova does not send the document contents to its application server for those supported transformations. It does not describe or control every action that the operating system, browser, extensions, network software, or device-management tools may take.
Keep the task available until it finishes
Leave the PDFNova tab open while processing is under way. Closing it, navigating away, reloading, or interrupting the browser can discard the in-progress state before an output is ready.
- Wait for the workflow to report that processing has completed.
- Download every generated PDF or ZIP that you need.
- Open the download and verify the expected pages or changes before starting over.
Save outputs before resetting
Generated results are offered for download rather than retained as a document library. Download them before resetting the workflow or leaving the page, and keep an unchanged source until the result has been checked.
Limitations
- Browser processing is an application-architecture boundary, not a universal security, confidentiality, recovery, or device-safety guarantee.
- Available memory, processing power, browser behaviour, and document complexity can affect whether a supported task completes.
