How to edit supported PDF properties without registration

PDFNova’s available Metadata tool works without account registration and edits supported properties: title, author, subject, keywords, creation date, and modification date. It does not edit existing paragraph text or embedded images.

Use PDF Metadata

Review the supported properties

Open PDF Metadata and choose one file. After the document information loads, review the title, author, subject, comma-separated keywords, creation date, and modification date fields.

Update, clear, and save

Change only the properties that need correction. Leaving a supported field empty clears it; creation and modification dates must use the accepted ISO date format.

  • Select Save metadata after the selected file has finished loading.
  • Download the metadata-updated PDF.
  • Inspect the new file’s properties in a PDF viewer.

Distinguish properties from page content

Document properties describe the file but are not the sentences, photos, diagrams, or scanned material visible on its pages. Use the capabilities page to check this boundary before starting.

Limitations

  • Supported property editing explicitly excludes existing paragraph text and embedded images.
  • The tool does not provide OCR, Office conversion, account storage, or a guarantee that every PDF viewer will display the updated fields.
