How to remove blank pages from scanned office PDFs for free

PDFNova's Delete PDF Pages workflow is free and requires no registration. Review the scanned office document, select only confirmed blank or unwanted pages, export the reduced PDF in the browser, and verify that no required content, signatures, attachments, or separator pages were removed.

Use Delete PDF Pages

Identify pages that are truly unwanted

Review every apparently blank page at a readable zoom. A page may contain a faint stamp, signature, scanner mark, continuation note, page number, or intentional separator that is easy to miss in a small thumbnail.

Use the controlled paper set, document index, or source file to confirm whether each page belongs in the record.

  • Mark accidental scanner blanks separately from intentional separators.
  • Check duplicate pages against nearby content.
  • Do not remove pages required by records or audit rules.

Delete only the confirmed pages

Open Delete PDF Pages, add the scanned PDF, and select the page positions that have been confirmed as unwanted.

Generate the new PDF while preserving the sequence of every page that remains.

Compare the cleaned PDF with the source

Open the output and verify the pages immediately before and after every deletion. Check total page count, section transitions, signatures, attachments, page numbering, and any document index.

Retain the original scan until the cleaned version has passed the required review or records process.

  • Confirm no required back page was removed.
  • Confirm numbering gaps are understood or corrected separately.
  • Use a new revision name for the cleaned output.

Limitations

  • Delete PDF Pages removes complete pages and cannot erase a mark or object while keeping the rest of the same page.
  • PDFNova cannot determine whether a visually blank page is legally, operationally, or procedurally required.
